It's difficult to summarize over thirty years of work experience, but here are a few examples of applications I've developed in the past:
Designed a new LTL rating and automatic rebilling system for Prime’s floral division. Led the team writing all software, and wrote the automatic rating and batch billing system that was the bulk of the project.
Created a system that automatically accepts or rejects EDI 204 Load Tenders based on lane information entered by the user. Loads would be accepted automatically if an agreement was in place to accept a minimum number of loads per day, or rejected if it exceeded a minimum.
Managed, designed, and coded a 2,000-hour interface project for deBoer, Inc. that connects the IBM i to an RS/6000 software system using database triggers and TCP/IP data streams for load planning and predicting future orders. It allowed load assignments based on ranked suggestions made by the software.
Wrote an EDI interface for that converts spreadsheets into EDI inbound 204 Load Tender messages in Innovative software system.
Designed and wrote an application to send cell phone text messages to employees from the Innovative payroll system and driver acquisition system. It allowed setup of text cell number and carrier associated with an entity to be automatically sent the text alerts.
Assisted in creating a web based and cell phone versions of IBM i TL2000 software using Profound UI.
Wrote an interface from an IBM i dispatch system to ALK’s TruETA web based mapping software. A browser window with map and ETA could be opened from the IBM i operations screen.
Designed and wrote a system for extracting and formatting data from Tl2000 for eManifests to Homeland Security and Canadian customs for trucks crossing between the U.S. and Canada.
Designed and coded an application that automatically sends EDI 214 ETA messages to trading partners using the current location determined by mobile communications.
Created fuel tax table systems for both automatic invoice rating and settlements rating that use the average price of diesel per region and date to determine surcharges.
Wrote an interface to SMC3's Rateware software to return standard LTL rates to truckload carriers.
Developed a bar coding feature for vehicle maintenance inventory. It involved printing bar code labels for bins with support for hand held and desktop bar code readers at inventory and check out.
